Why we need this scheme

The Kingsway, Markeaton and Little Eaton junctions on the A38 currently suffer from heavy congestion. We are making improvements to these junctions to relieve this congestion.

Aims

The aims of the scheme are to:
  • reduce congestion
  • increase capacity
  • improve journey time reliability
  • improve road safety
  • support local regeneration and development plans
